A rising sun surrounded by warm sunstone and labradorite.  The words "Still I Rise" are stamped on the back of the pendant.  Inspired by a Maya Angelou poem. A beautiful reminder that you are stronger than you know.   Measures 17" -18" with lobster clasp and adjustable length chain closure. Sterling silver and bronze.

About Sunstone:  Sunstone, also called Heliolite, is the State Gem of Oregon, a prime source for this beautiful gem. The name Heliolite has been derived from the Greek 'helios' and 'lithos,' which mean 'sun' and 'stone'.  Sunstone is metallic in appearance and comes in red, orange or green colors.  Sunstone is formed in molten lava and is discharged onto the surface with the help of a volcano. The lava weathers away or is broken. Fine crystals of sunstone is then released. The Oregon sunstone is found with copper in it which is the cause for the range of colors in the stone from water color to yellow and many shades of green, red and pink.  In ancient times, this stone was used by natives for barter. It was also believed by the Vikings to be a talisman for navigation.

About labradorite: Labradorite is truly a fascinatingly beautiful mineral. Its a mineral whose charm is not fully noticed and may be overlooked if not viewed from the proper position. When the light hits this plain gray stone, flashes of blue, yellow and green, called labradorescence are revealed. Labradorite was first found in 1770 on the Labrador Peninsula in Canada. It is also found in Norway, and the former USSR. Legend says that Labradorite is a power stone, allowing you to see through illusions and determine the actual form of your dreams and goals. Sounds good to me!

FAQ

What is this jewelry made of?

I use quality sterling silver, 14k gold fill and 14k gold.  Occasionally I throw in some bronze, copper or brass.  I use all natural gemstones, some have been treated to enhance color.

About 14k gold fill: 14K gold filled wire is a professional jewelers grade wire. Gold filled wire is not plated. It is a tube of solid 14K gold mechanically bonded to a brass or silver base. There is 100 times more gold in gold filled than in gold plate wire. This layer of gold must be a minimum of 1/20th of the total metal weight to be called gold filled. The color looks exactly like 14k gold. It is tarnish-resistant, safe for sensitive skin and unlike gold plate, it will not wear off. It is a great way to enjoy affordable gold jewelry.

Dainty Powerful Message Necklace

Necklace is everything I hoped for. Powerful message but delicate and wears well with anything. It can look dressy or casual and the message side is beautifully stamped so that side can be worn face out too. Well done piece that speaks for my soul.
