The perfect balance of modern and rustic. Tiger's eye, ruby, and amethyst are stacked together and dangle below hand forged hoops. Edgy and a little moody. Handmade Shepherd hook earwires. Measure 1 3/4”. Sterling silver, which has been oxidized and hand polished for an antique finish.

About Amethyst:  Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz. The name comes from the Ancient Geek “methustos” ("intoxicated"), a reference to the belief that the stone protected its owner from drunkeness; the ancient Greeks and Romans wore amethyst and made drinking vessels of it in the belief that it would prevent intoxication. Amethyst is renowned for bringing a sense of calm and clarity to our chaotic world.

About Rubies: The birthstone for July, the ruby is the red variety of the mineral corundum. Historically, it has symbolized love and passion, considered an aid to firm friendship, and believed to ensure beauty. It can range in color from purplish or bluish red to a yellowish red, but the finest color is a vivid, almost pure spectral red with a very faint undertone of blue. The ruby is a very brilliant stone and is also a very hard, durable, and wearable stone.

About Tiger’s eye :  Tiger's Eye, much like the eyes of a female cat, glitters with a small ray of light on the surface. This property of stone is known as chatoyancy. Tiger’s eye is golden brown with lustrous yellow and brown parallel fibers.  Roman soldiers wore tiger's eye for protection in battle. Tiger’s eye was thought to be all seeing due to its appearance.

FAQ

What is this jewelry made of?

I use quality sterling silver, 14k gold fill and 14k gold.  Occasionally I throw in some bronze, copper or brass.  I use all natural gemstones, some have been treated to enhance color.

About 14k gold fill: 14K gold filled wire is a professional jewelers grade wire. Gold filled wire is not plated. It is a tube of solid 14K gold mechanically bonded to a brass or silver base. There is 100 times more gold in gold filled than in gold plate wire. This layer of gold must be a minimum of 1/20th of the total metal weight to be called gold filled. The color looks exactly like 14k gold. It is tarnish-resistant, safe for sensitive skin and unlike gold plate, it will not wear off. It is a great way to enjoy affordable gold jewelry.
